Atari Centipede

Atari Centipede is a classic fixed-shooter arcade game that challenges players to defend their territory from waves of invading pests. Armed with your bugblaster, your mission is to fend off terrifying enemies such as centipedes, spiders, scorpions, and fleas. The goal is to survive as long as possible while racking up a high score in this exhilarating game. Your bugblaster fires small darts to eliminate the segmented centipede, which is composed of 10 to 12 body parts, including its head. When you shoot a segment, it transforms into a mushroom, creating obstacles for both you and the remaining segments. Each segment—once hit—continues its descent independently down the screen, adding to the challenge. Crucially, the entire centipede is only destroyed when you successfully hit its head, making targeting precise and strategic essential. Control your bugblaster effortlessly using either your keyboard or mouse to move and shoot, staying alert to the ever-changing battlefield as you aim to clear the screen of enemies and achieve your highest score.
